I found the battery icon on the task bar is missing and I don't know how to recover it!!
All the ways said on the web to change into the dedicated card is by choosing the battery icon on the task bar, but now what can I do?
    Help please!

Hey man, try to go to Start, Run "msconfig" check your start-up options and then restart.

on a side note... i ordered a W500 on monday, how long did it take you to get your notice that it shipped after you ordered?

To get a battery icon in the task bar, did you try going to control panel, power options, and check the box to show icon in taskbar? I'm not on a pc right now, so I forgot the exact options, but something like that.

    Lanxsworld,
    (1) Do you have powermanager installed? if not go to the lenovo site, support and downloads and download/install it.

    (2) Open the powermagers.
In vista just type in powermanager in the search bar to find it. If you have xp you can look in all programs or hit the blue thinkvantage button and find it in the popup menu.

    (3) In Powermanager look through the menus till you see the check box for "show battery icon in system tray" or something to that effect.

That should display the battery icon in the system tray.

Could always call lenovo tech support too.
