I started another thread about my computer freezing for a couple seconds at a time and in the process of trying to fix that I have created a much bigger problem.

I tried to update the AMD 3400 chipset driver and something went wrong. I have tried to roll it back and update it again but my computer will not book to the desktop. (I am running Safe mode)

It boots to the password screen, I input my password and then boots to a blank desktop. I do have access to Task Manager on the blank desktop. It is only running 27 processes. (Usually 58 or so)

Any ideas? I am running 8.792.5.0 for the Radeon 3400 series.

Edit: Just noticed that safe mode is only running 27 processes. Conincidence?

In Safe Mode, load MSCONFIG and uncheck anything AMD/ATI under the Startup tab. Also load Services and set any AMD/ATI services to manual.
