Help! Need help ordering T61. Can't find WUSB

I am trying to order the following laptop, although I can't find the Wireless USB option anywhere. Help!

I'd guess it's either no longer available or simply no longer an option but implicitly included.

Would suggest you go ahead and place your order and then follow up with a call to Lenovo sales on Monday to get clarification. You can always cancel if you need to then and this way will get a spot reserved in the build queue.

 

I think Wireless USB comes only on T61p and not the normal T61.

 

This is one of many listed in another thread ..all T61 that have it.?? Not T61p?? Am I missing something?

 

Maybe it does then. I told you not to take my word for it.

 

i don't think it's implicitly included.

 

WUSB is on my invoice for my 15" nVidia T61. Even though I could not select WUSB mid-July, it is supposed to come with my T61. I am not sure about now.

Please dont fall into this hysteria over this or that part.. Lenovo ships when Lenovos feels like shipping. Everyone is trying to analyse whay one laptop ships faster then another.. Dont base your purchase on that information which is wrong.. My 7/11 t61p with everything shipped on the 11th of aug..

 

Brusso, again, this is not about whether they want to ship the laptop faster or not. We are possibly missing out on some key features of the laptops we ordered.

Hunts: Unfortunately, it would seem that those who ordered T61s without the WUSB option on the site will NOT get a WUSB feature on their laptops. This is the same problem people have encountered regarding the WXGA and WXGA+ options on the 14 inch T61s, as they do not have the WXGA+ screen option anymore due to the supply constraint, but hopefully both those options will come back soon.

Once I do get my laptop that shipped yesterday, I will try and confirm if we do indeed have the WUSB, but my situation is a bit more complex than that, since I ordered on 7/11, and got canceled, rebooked on 8/9 (which was the day it didnt have the WUSB option), quoting the CSR that it is the "exact same configuration (but i have doubts about that too, since it just seemed that she merely reconfigured it on the Lenovo website). But anyway, once i get my laptop, hopefully me or others before me who ordered wihtout the WUSB option on the site can help confirm this.

EDIT: Ok I saw your other post, with your invoice and everything, it clearly states NO UWB antenna, so looks like you wont have it. Hope its not my case too, after rebooking 8/9.

 

Well, what else is one to do- we can't play on our new laptops? Also, I was to change my R61 order from 2 weeks ago...(take off camera) ..The ESD was 8/30 ...once I changed it, the order shipped 2 days later. Ordered 7/28...Rec'd last Last Tuesday. So you can impact the ship date using some deductive reasoning and are willing to reorder and lose your place in line. Although there doesn't really seem to be a line!

 

I ordered my T61p on 7/11 and my specs included the UWB adapter. Lenovo then had to cancel my order and reorder the same laptop again on 7/31.

I just unreceived my shipping email with the line:

42V8601 SBB NO UWB ANTENNA

The T61p is suppose to come with UWB. Is the UWB something I can install myself. Should we place a case action suit against Lenovo for all the people who are missing this included feature?

We are going to have to wait and see what you and SOMEDUDE actually receive. Was there an option to select when you originally ordered it? Did they ask you about the WUSB when you re-ordered?

 

I ordered a T61 (not p) on 7/17. Supposed to ship on 8/3. On 8/2 the date got moved to 9/2. I called to find out why. Turns out they had 'a problem with an incompatible part'. He said they now had to ship with 1GB instead of 512mb (I planned on upgrading myself). Ok, whatever, I reorder my t61, get to change my hd from 7200rpm 100gb to 5400rpm 160gb and it ends up being $50 cheaper. Yay. While ordering it I asked about what the UWB option was when I ordered online. He said that was actually the reason they had to reenter all these orders, since it couldn't be used on the t61. He said they'd put me on the priority list for my trouble (this was friday), and it looks like it shipped from china today.

Was it the really the ram? The uwb? Just a screw up? I dunno, but that's what went down. Take it as you will.

 

I have my original quote when I ordered on 7/11 which includes UWB. When my order did not ship on the 31st I called to see where it was. I was told the order was bad (stuck in manufacturing system) and it had to be replaced. I was told the exact same order was being placed as the one that was canceled.
When I originally ordered over the phone I asked the Rep about UWB and he had no idea what I was talking about but it was included in the system quote I got.

No, I trusted their word when they said they will configure EXACTLY as I had last time, but now I have second thoughts about that.

my laptop is expected 8/17, ill post pics and see if i have wusb or not.

 

Keep in mind, I said I ordered a T61, not a T61p.

The T61 isn't supposed to have UWB, but the option was there on the order page. The T61p is.

 

You just contradicted yourself. Take a look at the T61p custom config, even it does not have the WUSB option anymore.

 

Ah, I didn't check the T61p build page, I was just going by what Tom Ribble was quoted as saying. That was never stated for the t61.

 

I have the T61 shipped with the UWB adapter. It was available with the T61 and the T61p in Mid-July.. Now that option is not available for either the T61 or T61p. UWB adapter is listed on my Invoice that shipped on 08/11/2007.
