Occationally, the keyboard of my z61t stops responding. Can not type anything. But the mouse still works well to open, close or select things, and the system does not freeze. Have to reboot to get it back to work. Anyone has same experience? suggestion? how to solve the problem? Thanks.

When I boot up, sometimes the trackpad and/or keyboard are dead. I power down and boot again. Usually one or two boots will fix it. I'm thinking it has something to do with the logitech usb mouse I have. If the mouse is plugged in, I usually have the problems.. no mouse, no problems.

this is troubling news... maybe you wanna try checking the cable connecting the keyboard to the motherboard?

FYI... It got to the point where rebooting didn't help anymore. I booted into safe mode and the keyboard was working. Went into device manager and deleted the keyboard. XP detected it upon reboot, reinstalled, and now it seems to be working fine for the moment.
