Hello people. I'm having a couple of problems with my notebook. I love my notebook to death don't get me wrong, but here are the problems:

1: There is one dead pixel. (I'm not too picky about this, but if more and more dead pixels will start popping up...I'm enchanging.)

2: I received a message from the Lenovo Message Center saying, "Irreparable damage to the battery has been detected. Replace the battery with a new one." I am really freaked out about this.

3: My Microsoft label came stripped: [IMG]

Well, you have just seen my issues. I called Tech support and the guy recommended I exchange it since I've had my R60 for under a week. But do I really need to? One dead pixel means jack to me and I've read the battery message is a hoax.

By the way the guy told me that my microsoft label should probably be a reason alone to exchange my notebook, but the serial number is still CLEARLY visable on the notebook.

Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what to do? I really don't want to end up waiting another 2 weeks for another notebook. I have to have one for school.

    This is frustrating.

    Thanks for your help..

Well this is certainly very odd. I've been doing some tests and some research on pixels and the difference between dead and stuck and I have come to the conclusion that my pixel is in limbo right now because of several reasons.

    1. It is most definitely a blue pixel. It is not black.

    2. The pixel appears in its stuck/dead form when I am doing ANYTHING except for, looking at a blue screen OR when I do specifically a display "focus" test (which is done through the PC Doctor testing) (i'll include a picture of the screenshot of what the test looks like) [IMG]

So whenever I do specifically those two things, the pixel disappears. And when on the "focus" test, the exact spot where my stuck/dead blue pixel is, turns white like it should.

you should check out this thread to figure out what to do with a stuck pixel if you haven't already:

as for the battery, i would call lenovo about it. they probably will just ship you the battery and ask you to ship back your old one.
