    Hey,

I just bought an X61 tablet (not in a small part due to discussions here) and im been toying around with it all day. Its great.

Except for the fact that the battery refuses to charge beyond 78%. Once it reaches 78%, not only does it stop charging, it also disconnects from the main power. I have to let the battery drop to below 77% and then unplug and replug the AC adaptor to get the machine to run off AC power again.

Is this some kind of power setting or does the tablet have a real issue?

Go into Power Manager. On the the Battery Information Tab hit the Battery Maintenance button. On that GUI page there should be a reset button. Hit that as a place to start then let it run down and recharge.

Thanks for helping! I tried it, but it still doesnt work. The battery reset involves charging it up, then discharging it - so when it charges up to 78%, it just disconnects from AC again.

I think it's possible that you may have received a defective battery. You should call in for a replacement.
