I cant open any disk, CDROM, CDR, DVD, etc. It only allows me to format it. I have this machine for 6 mos, and have not been able to open a single disc! :( :(

I have spent countless time to turn off the auto-burning/formatting. Can't figure it.

Also, the WiFi is very very unreliable. I am told by a friend who has two T400 that he has same problem with vista. The WiFi is UNUSABLE because after about 30 minutes it drops and cant reconnect! My other laptops dont have this problem with same access point, and have replaced access point. And I am only 3 meters from the access point. :( :(

Thanks in advance for all help ! :) :) :)

    Hi ZaZ -

DLA ?? I have not installed any software. Whatever this problem is, it came with the T500.

How do I check for DLA, and how do I uninstall it?

    TIA
    O.

OK - thanks ZaZ - Wiki on DLA worked.

The problem is that this idiotic company (Le....) calls it "drag-to-disc" and by default it is ON! So it wants to format your CDR and even your CDROM and does not let you get access to the contents of your disc.

Right click on device and turn off drag-to-disc.

Now you would think it could ask the user if he wants to format his CDROM or CDR in advance, and have a cancel button, etc? !!!???

Nooooo, the idiots couldn't figure it, and the user be dammed, and they can suck ice, cause we are the Le.... company and we can control your desktop.

    Dbags ....
