So I i found an update for my T400 BIOS through the System Update manager and proceeded to download and install it, but during the BIOS flashing/etc something went wrong apparently and it did not install properly, im not sure, so i Restarted my computer and it didnt show anything.. I tried with AC and Battery, the thinkpad logo will not show and it wont start up. I disconnected the power and the Ac and reconnected the AC and it starts to beep 3 times continuesly, 1 long, and 2 short.. and starts again, and still will not start up. I talked to my friend about and he told me that usually with desktops, receeding the CMOS battery is a start to a solution, but i have no idea how to get to it.. is there a manual here that can help me or have any of you ever experienced this?

hope it will help -
I called technical support and they're sending me a box to ship my laptop in. don't think i want to void warranty by accidently damaging the board if I open it up, so im sending it to them for repairs. Besides, getting to the CMOS looks difficult through the manual, and I'm not very good at putting a laptop back together. Anyways, thanks for the quick reply.

FYI. It took me 10 minutes to get on line with a representive, who was very knowledgeable and patient with me, the entire conversation took 15 minutes and we had everything setup for shipment.

I know in the past when I've had a bad BIOS flash I've been able to go to a local computer shop who have an EEPROM flasher to redo it.

For IBM BIOS, 1 long and 2 short means problem related to display adapter.
But I don't know if this was caused by a failed BIOS update or the display card really has gone bad.
Either way, it's good that you're shipping it to Lenovo to have it fixed.
