    Hey guys, well I'm headed to college soon and I'm pretty set on the X220 :D so I just want to ask for some help reviewing my possible purchase. I don't want to pass up on any back to school discounts or any of that so, I used the barnes and noble deal i think thats good til the 14th.

    I got i5, home premium, 12.5 prem hd, 4 gb memory, 720p hd camera, 320 gb, usb modem, 9 cell, blue tooth, thinkpad bgn (do i need to upgrade this at all? no idea what it is), integrated mobile broadband (this too?, i doubt it tho), and all that for $820. is it a good deal? and am i missing anything? maybe u can tell me what to upgrade,etc any recommendations would be appreciated. I'm a college student who has a 5 yr old laptop, so i want this purchase to be perfect!

    Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 (2x2 AGN) $20 --> more reliable than Realtek "ThinkPad b/g/n"
    No need for integrated mobile broadband

    $820 good price

    that's a good price for what you're getting! i'd also recommend the card upgrade too. usually you will be fine with the thinkpad bgn card, but some colleges do not have a good wifi network so in the case of a weak signal/ insufficient slots for connection getting a better card would definitely help.

    i had the thinkpad b/g/n on my t410i and it worked fine at my school, but when i went to another college for summer school, somehow, i couldn't connect in the particular classroom where i was located - it was an extremely frustrating experience. my x220/ ipod worked so i bet it was related to the card.

    I have the integrated mobile broadband and love it. I use the sim card from my iPad when I want to use the X220 on the road, then I don't have to worry about wifi, I'm always connected. I don't know what the data plans are from the carriers but it's probably the $30 for 2gb range.
