    Hello,

Anyone have a recommendation for a headphone set for the W510 combo audio jack? I've been using Plantronics for years and years but all of the sets I have are the ones with a plug for the mic, and a plug for the audio.

All I see being sold are USB headsets or headsets with a mic and audio jack. Do they even make headsets that use that jack? Seems like it would be good with a cell phone headset.

How's that silly combo jack supposed to be used? No, I haven't read the freaking manual. :D

    Thanks,

    Halobox

I recommend a MEElectronics M9P (if you don't mind in-ear headphones, that is).

standard headphones with a 1/8" stereo plug will work in that jack.   they don't require a mic to be functional.

if you want to listen and record (skype, podcasts, etc.) then any wired headset designed for a cell phone will work.   these will match the theme of your ThinkPad if that's your goal.

You can get an adapter to convert the combo jack to a mike/headphone pair to use the old standard headsets. For example:

That's a good idea. I'll look around local. I bet RadioShack has a set. Thanks for the ideas.
