hey guys ive recently post a topic concerning my T60 activation problem. Now i have a new problem(not new but never mentioned before). im assuming its a hardware problem because when i checked device manager, all my drivers are installed. the screen is not the problem because i had a screen replaced in between time and its still having the same problem. Im not exactly sure what the problem is but its pretty big.

DETAILS OF PROBLEM: so what happen is when ever i do somewhat high graphic stuff like playing 700mb movie or playing games such as Counter Strike, Sudden attack etc... it FREEZES! its as if the computer just stops all action but stays turned on and screen shows the last shown image with a patterned thin vertical bars going straight down. it has 4 sets (lll lll lll lll) of lines going through and of course all mouse/keyboard goes dead. what should i do?

An image is attached for a clear image.

Looks like a Graphics Card Problem... Happened to a Friend's XPS just the same.

    Do you have warranty?

when i called lenovo for this problem earlier, the rep said its prabably a software problem? hard to believe when all drivers are installed and up to date & had this problem with xp to vista with even different screens. ive made a case concerning this already at 1800-ibm-serv so i guess ill just have to bring one of there technicians over to my house again. since the problem is the graphics card, i guess a new motherboard should do the trick.

They think it's software related because it doesn't happen the minute you boot up. It's a toss up without more troubleshooting.

....but good news! just called up lenovo today and they're sending out a guy tommorow w/ a new motherboard.

Google tpfancontrol. Every Thinkpad owner should run it.

Don't listen to your rep about what it may be. They just tell you the thing that's cheapest for Lenovo to replace. It's a huge waste of time because the chances are they are wrong and that they do not know what they are talking about.

ya i agree with you. it IS their loss even if its under warranty. so far i got a screen replacement, new screws put in, right display latch replaced, and now a complete motherboard.
you add that up its about a whole new lenovo. lol
