It's brilliant. That's all I can say. Sheer brilliance.

In Gutsy, I had to go through a lot of trouble getting my wireless and others set up. Now, it's just instant detection, especially in Hardware Testing.

I have a Dell 1501, by the way.

How is it on a T60p? Ubuntu has had problems with the ati v5250 drivers, has that been resolved?

I'm going to download it tonight while I'm sleeping. I have a relatively slow 512k connection. It would take about five hours to download for me, but locks up my connection making surfing slow.

Excellent... I mean to try it out when I get home from this business trip... Gutsy was a no-go for me too.

I had read that 8.1, due in October, is going to be focused on "mobility" issues, so thought that I might have to wait until then for painless wireless connectivity etc,

That would be great if they worked on the battery life issue. That's the one area for me where Windows does significantly better than Ubuntu.
