the new date seems to be it's just the computer recalculating the estimate ship date automatically, so it would be the same date as if i just ordered mine today. if you ordered in the last couple of days, your estimated shipping will also be around 6/22. i hope lenovo will ship the orders placed in may before june ones...

and correct me if i am wrong, i don't think any CTO models has been shipped. The T61s on the street are all pre-configured models

I don't think any of the CTO models have been shipped to the U.S. I've seen a few people from canada that claim to have gotten them.

I called Lenovo and the rep told me the delay was secondary to a shortage of the Nvidia card NVS140. So it looks like Nvidia is the rate limiting step?!? Im sure those T61p's will be delayed forever with the nvs510.

 

I contacted them about a week ago once reports of the delays started to make it to this site. This is the response I got back:

Your order is estimated to ship mid June due to a back order on the shell of the system itself.
If they become available before that date it will ship at that time.

I've heard both of what stiplit and stankso have both said from reps. I've also heard that it was the screens that they were out of.

First experience I've ever had with lenovo and it's probably one of the worst online ordering experiences I've ever had.

Just got off the call. The customer rep is now saying that orders on or after 05/08/2007 have been delayed. The parts should start coming in and the processing of orders should start by next week (2nd week of june).

Though I called Lenovo and the Customer Service agent's told me that his computer is saying they expect to ship my order between 6/20 and 6/28. Apparently the way the orderstatus webapp on directlenovo.com outputs the Est. Ship Date is that date shown is actually the end of a range in which they estimate your laptop will ship. So you will in theory get it earlier possibly but that date is the deadline. Though with Lenovo these days you can't get a concrete answer.
I really hope it ships AT THE LATEST on 6/28.
