I ordered the T61 on the April of 2008, I had looked through the forum and only find ordered posts concerning such issue. I am now wondering has Lenovo resolve the issue on the DIMM memory crashing issues?

    Thank you.

Still waiting for a resolution from Lenovo. Not sure if it will be a software or hardware fix yet. The pertinent thread at Lenovo Forums is HERE.

No official fix has been announced yet. I believe the issue only applies to T61p models with the Nvida graphics. Supposedly Lenovo is on the verge of announcing an official fix but if that's true, we still don't know how long it would take for it to circulate through the company and become available to the customer. Lenovo is a multi-national company with many outsourced service providers so this is probably not a trivial task and takes time. That's the explanation I have heard anyway. It seems we are very close to seeing this problem resolved.

Thank you, I guess I just have to wait and see if my laptop has a problem or not.

Lenovo has been working on the issue for a while now, hopefully that they will find the resolution soon.

There are some really frustrated people on the Lenovo forums who have been facing this problem for a year. I bought mine recently and can play Company of Heroes and Bioshock (haven't played much of that yet) without any glitches. I think the newer models don't suffer from it but someone pelase correct me if I am wrong.

I think the acid test is with 2x2Gb modules. From your sig it appears you have 3Gb? Altho I've heard of ppl with 3Gb having the same problem, it seems the majority with the problem use 4Gb. For the record mine has no problems on 1X2Gb or 2X2Gb (system purchased late last Sept).

The official fix from Lenovo is out, and it's a planar replacement. I really wish it was just a simple bios update, but at least now it's official, people should have an easier time to get their system fixed.
If your T61p was built on or after March 20, you should have the new planar board and should not have this problem.
My T61p was built just a couple days before that so it has the potentially faulty planar board. :( I don't have a chance to test out some 3D games yet to see if I have the problem. Hope my system is OK.
