A freind has just bought an ex-corporate T61 which he wants me to look at. The hard drive has been removed but I can replace that, as he has the caddy. However, what is the proceedure on these, I know there is a hidden partition on a factory install, how do I set that up?

Your friend will not be able to contact the former licensee so it'll be a new license. You'll pobably want to deletet the old partiitons with the copy of the OS you decide on and re-install.

If it was sold w/o an OS you'll need to buy an OS. Linux works fabulously on the T61 and it's free.

You'd need the recovery discs from Lenovo to get the recovery partition. They're $45 from Lenovo.
