According to Lenovo, the X6 UltraBase "can also house a second ThinkPad hard drive (requires Hard Disk Drive installation kit)." What exactly is this "hard disk drive installation kit"? Does it come with the UltraBase? Is it something Lenovo sells? Does the UltraBase accommodate standard 2.5" hard drives? Is the interface ATA or SATA or both? I found no answers to my questions on Lenovo's website.

The hard drive kit is the case for the drive. It does not come with the Ultrabase. I would assume it is ide, but thats a guess on my part.

I think the hard drive replaces the optical drive. Think of it as taking out the guts of the optical drive except the shell and replacing it with a hard drive.
