i have a t60p.
so i noticed the other day that when i clicked on the think vantage access connections on the task bar that "find wlan" was greyed out.
i then went into thinkvantage to see if i could find a network that way. when i click on find networks, it comes up with this error:
"find wireless networks" is disabled. contact your network admin.
what's the deal here? im fully updated.
thanks for your help.

go to START Menu

Go to networks tasks and select view network connections
Right clcik the wireless connection and enable it. -
Also lenovo has new drivers for your intel wireless card you should update them if you haven't done so Good Luck let me know how it goes.

Hi, I have got the same problem with a T60p. How did you fix it.
Thanks -
anyone else have any suggestions?

Uninstall the intel pro wireless abg card from device manager in Hardware tab within system which is in control panel. Before you do this download the latest drivers from the lenovo site http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-62875 . Uninstall the card and restart when windows say it has detected it ignore windows. Then run setup program which you just downloaded, this will fix it as your software is corrupt.

According to IBM Support everything on my machine is uptodate and the correct versions. They suggested .........
..
drum roll.....
..
Restoring machine to factory delivery!!!!!!!
Guess this problem is not covered by their tick box std answers. So rebuild is all they could offer.
I removed IBM Access Connections (Control Panel > Add and Remove Programs). I am now using Windows to manage the access connections and it is working fine.
Also the time to boot the machine has improved dramtically. So although IBM Access Connections is a good idea in proctise IMHO you should bin it. -
This info may be a day late and a dollar short, but I had the same problem on the T60. Oddly enough a solution for a earlier problem with the T42s solved my problem. The solution is to uninstall ThinkVantage Access Connections from Add Remove Programs. Make sure during the uninstall you select the option to remove Access Connections and Profiles. If you don't select this option the Admin flag could be set prohibiting you from editing or creating new connections. Download Access Connections from the Lenovo site, unpack, and re-install. You should have full functionality.
