    HELP: Updates and certain programs making T61 not start up!

    I am getting very frustrated. Whenever I do a Lenovo update or install a program like Norton Ghost my laptop boots up and only three or four icons appear then my laptop freezes? What can be causing this problem? Do you think it's because I need to do a clean install or its because of one of the parts in my laptop.

    Its a program that is locking it up, it is not hardware related. I suggest doing a clean install

    Are you sure. I think someone reported and said it was the BIOS update that I did. Do you know how I can reflash to my old BIOS?
