I'm planning to buy a T60 with 14.1" SXGA LCD screen from Costcentral. I've been reading a lot about problems with Samsung screens, and I know that this particular model (2623KEU) may come with Samsung, BOE Hydis, or TMD LCD panels. Can anyone help me determine which of these three the laptop would have? Customer support at Costcentral cannot help me, and I would hate to order one with Samsung screens, which I would then have to ship back and ask for a replacement. Or are Samsung 14" screens not as bad after all? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Some people are satisfied with samsungs, some are not, it's up to you.
You won't be able to know the type of screen unless you receive the laptop and have your serial number.

Thanks for the very quick reply. I got the numbers from the lenovo support site. But is that number somehwere on the package to check before opening it?
And which of the three is better (Samsung, Hydis, TMD)? I've never seen the three side by side, and have no idea what the difference is. It's just that some people in forums seem to hate the samsungs (though that was mainly the 15" WS ones). My main worry is the probability of getting dead pixels though.
    Cheers

The serial number is on the box I believe. You might want to read CostCentral's return policy.

I gave the three numbers for the three different manufacturers to Costcentral but they said they could not check it for me. And now some people also told me that the Samsung is actually better than the TMD, so I don't know what to believe.

If you buy from CostCentral your return options will be much more limited.
