helo fellow T400 users please help me out here

    1) is this normal . my screen powers up showing the thinkpad display then blacks out for 3x every time i switch on my T400, i have to wait for around 20-27 seconds for the screen to be stable .

    2) the connection on the WIFI regularly stops if i leave it idle for more than 8 hours ! i thought it was maybe the battery saver on wireless so i did selected medium power saving mode but still cutting off when on idle .

    3) does the T400 comes with a built-in bluetooth hardware ? i have the bluetooth logo that comes from the factory but nothing happens if i don't plug in a bluetooth USB drive ?

    hoping for answers thanks

The field service person will ask you if you see the device with sysgen. Chances are, you don'y have the hardware and the decal is incorrct.

1.- Is this screen issue before or after Windows starts?

2.- Make sure you install the latest drivers for your wireless card from the Lenovo website. The latest release supposedly fixes the wireless dropping issues.

3.- Press Fn + F5 and choose to turn on Bluetooth, if your laptop came with it. If not, you will need a Bluetooth USB dongle.

hi renee you mean decal on the bluetooth ? i saw the logo inside the control pane .l

midnightsun , the screen blacks out after windows vista shows-up then flicks 3x , i have to wait around 20 sec for it to be stable . from the day i bought the lappy , i didn't bother to ask for a comparison unit bec the saleman said all t400 are the same .

I don't know if this is related.

Go to Device Manager > Network Adapters and right click on each adapter > Properties and look for Power Management and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

    helo useroflaptops here it goes

press power on > THINKPADS appears 3 secs > blacks out 15-20 secs > microsoft corporations appears w a running bar 15 secs > welcome by windows vista business appears 8 secs > black outs again 15 secs > desktop appears > flicks flicks blackouts for 15 secs > finally stables .

helo joey-T yes i had done that previously but stills disconnects if i leave it idle or downloading from the nets !

my T400 was bought last dec , while i was in taiwan !
