ok so i received my t400, absolutely amazing...except when i changed the background the white i noticed a dark spot on the bottom left corner, and small dark spots on the bottom right corner...i checked the type of screen i have and it's an LG...whites are nice and white.

so now i bring the laptop to the service center and they tell me they can warranty fix it so i was like sure. then i wanted to make sure they were gonna give me an LG..then they said ok let me check...so they check and they only see 1 options for screen..but they didn't know which one it was. they then tell me to call lenovo and see what they can do.

i call lenovo and they say sure we can fix it...but they're gonna be fixing it with the samsung and i have to ship my laptop to them and wait for it to be shipped back to me. apprently there isn't even an LG option listed in their database!

what the f.....so now i'm stuck with the nice LG screen with a dark spot on the corner...what am i suppose to do? keep it or replace it with the crap samsung one?

that's like asking someone to give up their first-born child for some orphan on the street. keep it and get it fixed later when they have LG panels in stock.

The FRU for the WXGA+ LG LED panel is 42T0498 (part number 42T0497) if that helps.

Shipping it off really isn't that bad if they have the panel at the service center. Everything is shipped through overnight DHL and replacing a panel takes less than a day, so they can ship it back out the day they get it.

alrite keeping it now and fixing it later sounds like a plan...my machine'll still be fixable until the 1 year warranty is up...the LG should be in stock sometime then right? cause the rep on the phone said there wasn't even a part for the LG screen...like it didn't exist.........
