I have a Thinkpad HDD 5400rpm SATA (80gb) that was from a thinkpad X61s. I have two questions:

    1. Can it be used on a thinkpad X200s? If not, what models in general can it work on?

    2. If I want to make an external HDD with it (I've seen posts about buying a case to house the HDD), can the resulting external HDD be used for any thinkpad? That is, I suppose there's no compatibility issues, just need a USB socket, right?

    Thanks!

    1) Yes, it should be able to work

    2) All you have to do is get an external hdd enclosure and pop it in. You can then use it as extra space for pretty much any computer. They usually come with a USB cable

    Thanks! Good to know!
There are many models of cases, can someone link one being sold online that is compatible to the HDD I have? The part number is 42T1575. Help appreciated!
