I have everything maxed including with FHD and it runs smoothly. I haven't checked the fps with fraps, however it has not stuttered in the hours that I have spent with it. Hope that helps.

Please note: the game is still not fully optimized so these are findings based only on a beta stage of the game. Arenanet is still working to optimize the game further before release.

    With 304.79 BETA drivers:

Walking around the human main town on the max graphics I saw an average of 35 fps. In WvW with max graphics is almost unplayable so I had to turn it down to the lowest settings but even then I was still only getting ~25 fps. In the human starting zone, with max graphics on, I was getting around 25 fps, sometimes reaching 30 fps and going as low as 15. This was in an area with not a lot of people too. When I turned on balance settings it reached a max of 50 fps. Overall, the game still didn't look too bad and was running at over 30 fps with the balanced settings on.

I tested GW2 on FHD and max settings and even on WvW fps was great! On my desktop I can't play WvW because when there is siege and everyone is trying to break gate all I have is sideshow. Y580 doesn;t have this problem.

@titanlord1, you're probably right, I expected better performance from the 660m. It might just be something wrong with my laptop, I'm getting it replaced because of another issue but perhaps there's an issue with the gpu also.

@MaXiiczek I didn't check how much % of the CPU was being used but I checked temps once while playing this weekend, HDD was at 60c and CPU was at 70c. And yes its the i7-3610QM.

Don't make any judgements regarding performance based on what people on this forum say. Games running great means different things to different people. People also tend to talk out of their asses.

Go through the owners thread. There are benchmarks from the standard accepted benchmarking programs. Driver versions make somewhat of a difference, but compare your results to those scores before making any judgements about your laptop and whether there is something wrong with it.

If your scores match up with the ones other people are getting, then you are good to go.

Tried out the stress test last night with my y580.

FYI, I'm running my gpu overclocked +135 Core and +250 memory (using the beta drivers which allows me to overclock, afterburner didn't seem to apply the OC on the stock drivers). Afterburner OSD shows my core clock as 1085 MHz when boost is on (i guess you have to use the super performance thing in the power utility for boost to be applied), and 2750 on the memory.

Game runs well maxed out. I have it at 1080p, with everything maxed, except supersampling is off and shadows at high instead of ultra. FXAA is off only because I just don't like the blurring, and at 1080p on a 15 inch screen I don't even notice the AA being off.

Getting like 45 fps in unpopulated areas, goes down to the 30s when a lot of stuff is going on, but feels smooth the whole time. Afterburner shows me at 99% GPU usage, so it's not CPU limited at least in the areas I was in. didn't go to divinity's reach yet though maybe try that tonight since there's another stress test.

Stress tests are very short duration beta events Arenanet is doing for prepurchasers. There was one Noon-4 pm Pacific time yesterday and another 4-8pm pacific time today.

Basically they just let you in for a few hours so they can test how the servers are handling load and to fix lag problems. Not really enough time to be worthwhile to play, but plenty of time to test how your y580 runs the game!

(Keep in mind I think optimization is still going on so performance now might still not be the same at at release in a couple weeks, but who knows.)

Edit: to fix my terrible spelling
