    Hey guys,

I've been reading around this Lenovo/IBM section and I've seen many complaints etc. on the after sales service of Lenovo. Here's one that I can safely mention that proves that Lenovo isn't just all lemons...

I live in Singapore and although the country is quite small compared to the US etc., it is still about a 45 mins drive to the service center from where I live. This morning my T61 trackpoint decided to have a mind of its own and the cursor slides around the screen uncontrollably. I decided to call Lenovo's service center. I told the service rep. that I needed the machine to be back to normal asap and he said that he would get back to me asap. Indeed he did - within 5 mins I got a call back from them and they said that they would happily replace the keyboard for me. I told them I couldn't leave my machine there for the 2-3 days for parts replacement. They then told me they would send a dispatch down to my place by 4pm. Indeed at 4pm sharp the door bell rang and the Lenovo dispatch was there.

The dispatch guy was told that I needed to replace my keyboard urgently and he actually told me that he was given a crash course on how to replace the keyboard in case I myself didn't know how to. I was pleased at the level of service they had provided me. Now my T61 is back to normal and I got a free trackpoint knob too. :D

All in all, I think many of you had gotten rather poor service in your area, but I can testify that where I am the service is beyond what is expected.

    Cheers,
    Nick

Thanks for the heads up Nick.

My X61 which was purchased in Thailand was manufactured in Singapore as well. It seems the South East Asian HQ is based there?

At the end of the day good service is often down to the individual, not necessarily the region or country. In any case, glad you got your issue resolved quickly.

Good to hear that , i had good experience too and I shared it before , I think People here are expecting high quality of service when they pay big fat money and there are some sales reps that don't care about service
