Aside from all the horror stories I've heard from Lenovo customer support, comes a good one.

My t61p recently broke due to the G82 series (570M) graphics card. I wrote a post on NR and asked for advice on how to deal with it

After being unsuccessful with their support line, I decided to file a report on BBB.

The next weekday, I got a call from Mike and said that he would give a discount on a new motherboard for 100 dollars (normally $5XX dollars)

He said he did this not because of legal obligations but because of customer satisfaction.

I told him that I was pleased with the settlement but told him that I didnt have the money to pay him back right away since I am a poor college student.

He thought for a second and told me that he would fix it for free with a prepaid box sent in as well.

That made my freakin day, On Lenovo! Because of this, Lenovo has regained my trust and confidence.

I will be buying from the again in the near future

go Lenovo.... nice... 100 dollars for them means nothing, since that it doesn't even cover the cost of the courier fees. That 100 dollars basically covers that. 100 dollars for a long term loyal customer whom are happy, i think it is well worth it.

Yes in the long term, acts of kindness can go a looong way.

Now instead of making me pay the 600 dollar fee, they now will get at least double that when I buy my next thinkpad

O wait.. do they even make those anymore? lol
