The original 100Gb HDD crashed on my Lenovo ThinkPad T61 (Model 7662 CTO). I installed a new 300Gb HDD and am running Win 7. But I did NOT load all the ThinkPad support software that comes standard.
Now I have very poor graphics resolution. The best I can get is 1024 x 768 in spite of the nVidia Quadro NVS 140 chip.
I had great resolution of up to 2560×1600 before my original 100Gb crashed.
Am I missing some special ThinkPad graphics software? What files should I load? Or is my nVIDIA Quadro chip hosed?

duh
you can at least maybe install drivers?
and some of the thinkpad software are genuinely useful, e.g. active protection system -
Eh, to be a little more helpful here, you might want to run the Thinkvantage System Update utility, if you have enough in the way of drivers loaded to reach the Internet:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/TVSU-UPDATE.html
Download, install, and run the program. It'll send your system information to Lenovo, who will then download the correct drivers and install them for you. A couple of reboots later and you'll have all the factory software and drivers on your machine.
Edit: I only glanced over your original post. I know Lenovo has made great strides in making sure their machines had great Win 7 driver support, but I'm not sure if they have driver support for their slightly older models like the T61. I won't be running Win 7 for a while so I don't have any specific information. -
