    First post alert! :)

I just received my Thinkpad Z60m (WSXGA+) and really like it a lot. However having just returned my Acer TravelMate 8204 for screen quality issues (and taking a step back in technology [no core duo, x1600, 667MHz ram, etc] for the build quality of the Thinkpad line, I hoped and expected the screen to be flawless.

It doesn't have any dead or bright pixels, but the lower left-and-right corners of the screen are darker, and then immediately brighter, almost as if something is pushing on the display at those two points. After running a search here I came across a few posts that said to loosen the screws that hold the bezel in place. I did that, but the issue remains. There are also screws that hold the LCD panel to the frame, but those are very difficult to get at since it would require the bezel to be completely removed. Additionally those screws are in the sides of the LCD panel and seem to be unrelated to the lighting descrepancy.

Is this a common issue? I'm coming from the Toshiba Qosmio lineup which had a flawless screen. It seems odd to me that both the Acer TM8204 and the Lenovo would have dark corners. Thanks for any input you can offer!
