Just got UPS delivery, set it up and check Device Manager ...

Last December I've mentioned that Lenovo Canada had a price error on their site during Boxing week sale - cheapest drive was 80Gb ... SSD. I actually placed an order with this option and had my fingers crossed.

And now I see in DM - Intel SSD SA1MH080G1LE and trying to pinch myself.

Don't worry it is just the Canadian version of a 128SSD for a negative dollar amount upgrade...Then they gave us 200gig regular drives or 64gig SSD drives.

Congrats. But seriously, Lenovo needs to fix these problems as they must be hemorrhaging money as a result of these mistakes.

I was actually ready to proceed with upgrade from 80Gb 5400, just didn't pull a trigger until delivery. I was almost certain they would change spec even w/o explanations.

But, of course, I don't mind at all :)

    Lucky duck.

I also ordered an x200 on Dec23, but last week got a call from my sales rep saying the order was held up since they don't actually carry the Intel drive! It's pretty remarkable that it took nearly a month to discover that this was the issue, but what can I do?

Can you please confirm that the FRU/part number of the drive is 41W0516?
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?template=/partslookup/partsLookup.vm should be able to show you.

I doubt it will help at this point, but perhaps they will honour the original order because of the ridiculous long wait and that apparently my sales rep didn't take the time to actually look at the order even after it suffered multiple delays.

    Two lucky ducks.
I just got mine... with the Intel80.
I'd say it was worth the wait.

I'm glad you got the notebook you wanted, but 7 weeks is way too long for the building/shipping/etc. process to take (Mine was less than 2 weeks from order to delivery).

Agreed - seven weeks is way too long... especially when told it will be only two weeks. That's my biggest beef.

Also, I don't think I would have gotten any SSD had my sales rep caught the pricing error even two or three week into the delays. But once it reached four weeks before he actually looked at the order and discovered what was wrong, I suppose he felt partially to blame and thus went to bat for me to get the Samsun 64 gig SSD. i'm sure many others would have seen their orders cancelled at this point.
