and I must say, I LOVE it! The build quality is excellent, very solid, and it's fast. The viewing angles are pretty limited, but the screen is bright. So far it runs very cool, but the fan can be a little annoying.
So far I'm loving my ideapad!

Congratulations! Could you post some pictures?

Specs?

Sorry, I've been busy with my new computer. The specs: Core 2 Duo SU7300 (1.3GHz), 4GB DDR3 RAM, 320GB HDD, Intel 5100 bgn, bluetooth 2.1, all the other specs are the same as the SU2300 version.
I probably wont have time to post some pics for awhile, but I'll try.
Zaz, I have a question or two from you. I've noticed some strange behavior on mine. Some times when I reboot, the fan shuts off, but makes a loud clank sound, like the fan is running fast then comes to a screeching halt, then powers back up as the computer restarts. Do you have that? I've never ever had that issue on any computer I've ever had and it has me a little concerned.
Secondly, I noticed my display flickers when changing backgrounds. Kind of hard to explain but, the only other time I've ever seen that is when a graphics card is running in software mode. Like it slowly changes from one scene to another. I've noticed this not only in win7, but vista, during startup, the BIOS, etc. I've tried different drivers, so it's definitely not that.
After I finish downloading some updates I'm going to try 3dmark06, and see if the performance is as expected. I'm concerned about the graphics chip though, if it could be faulty.
Does anyone have any thoughts? -
Get it replaced.
-
Ugh, I don't know. I'm going to hang onto it for a few days and see what happens. ZaZ, whenever you reboot your U150, does the fan ever suddenly stop, then restart as the system powers up?
-
I did not notice it. Are you talking about how the fan powers on when starting/rebooting? A lot of PCs/Notebooks do it.
-
-
It should wind down or wind up smoothly and not clunk down as you mentioned. Maybe you should bring it down to the service center to check for a bad fan...
-
It sure is a bad fan mate. A fan cannot clunk from time to time when the laptop restarts. Normally, it should either retain its current speed or shut down and restart. You should definitely seek a replacement. good luck.

Ok, I'll give Lenovo a call. Thanks for your input everyone.

Ok well, I just got an RMA, and the rep said I can only get a full refund, then I'd have to place another order, no exchanges.

I really hate to send it back, I love this notebook. Guess I'll be ordering another one, or maybe an X201 when it gets released. -
Sorry to hear that. You were an inspiration to us all when your notebook was actually shipped to you
