Got my T61 in less than 15 hours from ordering =D

Now for all those who were picky and wanted a camera on their laptop etc...have fun waiting...i decided to leave lenovo site alone since delays and stuff were getting ridiculous..but o well..i ordered from pc connection...20 minutes later got a call from them that they were shipping it and this morning at 11am it was at my door...try to beat that lenovo! Ok im done bragging

 

My system is arriving today that I ordered on 6/7 and it has a Camera and NVIDIA graphics. Im not jealous But I'm glad you were able to get a system fast! The T61 debacle will go down in Consumer Laptop history it seems, LOL!

 

it's cool that you got it that fast, but most of us here want to customise our laptops to suit our needs. Also, most of us have a steep discounted price via coupons or promotions...and looking at PC connection's website the closest machine to the one I ordered directly from lenovo is >$600 more expensive ( and it doens' thave everything I have ordered!)

 

I strongly considered this option on May 23. But pre-built units from PC Connection did not have the extra I wanted or the price (I paid $1630 for everything I wanted which still had a lot more options than the one from PC Connection).

 

When we found his laptop, the model he got was about 400 less than my student access account on Lenovo.com.

I got my T61 from Lenovo today! Getting it setup right now. Beautiful looking machine, much different than my Dell Inspiron 8500. People have been reporting that Windows Vista is slow, but to me it seems just fine. I have 1gb of ram and the 7300 processor with the 100 gb 7200 rpm drive.

 

im currently reformatting to XP =D...and yes we took the turbo memory out allready...i wont tell you who showed me how to for his personal protection.

 

why would it be difficult to take out the turbo memory?? isnt it just a chip like a pci card sorta in a desktop?

 

Well...this is my first notebook so i had no idea where it is...and id say having someone help kept me from screwing up and breaking something lol...was it hard..no..was it easy for someone who doesnt know crap about notebooks...yes

 

Congratulations on fast shipping. I'd be happy too. Anyways, I usually prefer to actually customize it in order to get everything I want. Also, coupons allow you to save money, even if it takes an extra week.

Do you know what kinda 100GB Hard drive you got (brand name, model)?

 

I hate to tell you this, but I did beat this. I ordered a T61 from PC Connection on a Wednesday night at 10:00 and it arrived the next morning at 9:42. That's less than 12 hours. Hats off to PC Connection.
