I got my Thinkpad T61 15.4 widescreen with Vista Business yesterday and so far it's been great. I noticed that they have Office 2007 on it. I am assuming this is a trial versions, since a product key is not provided. If one decides to keep it, how do they get the product key? Is there any way to "fake it"? That is being able to use it after 30 days without a product key.
Also, if a system has Office 2007 can you also install Office 2003?

Yup you just uninstall it and install 2003. -
Office 2007 features activation; if you want to continue using it, it will ask you to purchase a key and enter it (which you can do online).
If you don't, it will revert to a very limited mode (i.e. where you won't be able to edit documents, save documents, etc.). -
Unless you have a specific need, OpenOffice is free and works quite well.

The base build is Office 2007. I bought Pro with my T61p and the "Trial" was loaded on the PC and Pro CDs were separate. I did a clean install on another drive and never entered my key, but my assumption is I would have been able to activate the installed version and not have to use the CDs.
Got T61 has Office 2007
