OK i was wondering what is causing my comp to freeze with on battery and off, so i re formatted my computer with ultimate but didn't install the thinkvantage till 2 weeks later just to add the extras. So everything was fine untill i enabled the shock sensored thing for the hard drive and all the other software that came a long with it. I seriously got the freezes like i used to so i took it out and NO MORE FREEZES. OH yea if you are wondering everything is up to date etc..

if you have the shock protection on, your computer will freeze up for a little bit at a time if the computer is moved.

I'm glad you found the root of the problem though.

Yes, i did looked into that short freeze.. and mine was set to .5 sec. BUT to clarify my experience with the freeze is a snowy white for the whole screen and nothing can be done even after 3-4 min when ur patients run out.. not even the Alt Ctrl Del works.

I was getting those freezes as well, but it didn't have to do with the shock protection. For me, once I disabled turbo memory they went away. It was either that or the thinkvantage access connections because I disabled my turbo memory and got rid of that software at the same time. Since then I have done a clean install on my computer. With turbo memory disabled I have yet to get any lockups. I do have the shock system running on my clean install.
