Yes. Nice processor and GPU for under $1000.

As far as graphics are concerned, I don't see why one should get that for $950 when you can get a Dell Vostro with a geforce 8600M for a lesser price.. :)

Can you spec a vostro that high with a 8600GT for less than that price?

No, you cannot. Just tried with Dell Deals too.

Comes out to $1,332+tax for same specs and 8600GT.

As you can see, the OS is more expensive, the GPU is FAR FAR better! And the hard disk is larger too! CPU, RAM, everything else same!
    All this for Subtotal $1,079
You can take it/change components from there! ;)

    I have a WSXGA+ on the IBM and bluetooth+webcam, 802.11n, . 7200rpm drive, given it's just 100 and the dell comes with a 160.

    WSXGA+ is important to me.

I'd like the notebook at the top in the t61e, with the 570m. But that's $200 more. I don't have $200 more.

Good price. I'd consider upping the warranty to a two-year depot for $59. Other than that, great machine.

    I mean I'd def. like a 8600GT, but I just can't get one under $1000 with those specs. :(
