On CL there is a thinkpad T61 for $260. Here are the specs:

    CPU:T7300
    Screen 14.1 1440X900
    Ram: 2GB
    HDD: 120GB

    Is this a good deal?

For a 2007 vintage notebook? I can only assume that it's used.

especially if it's integrated graphic (intel). if it's quadro just waste of money.

As stated above, not a bad deal but find out if it has the Quadro NVS graphics as those are about to go out for the warranty extension fix.

Ah well if it was Crestline graphics I would have taken it in a heartbeat. Maybe that's why it was so cheap.

I have no problems gaming on my heavily overclocked Quadro for 3+ years and counting :)

Yes that is a nice unit for the money.

I picked one of those out for a friend of mine, the 14" wide model I think is my favorite form factor of them all!

I have a quadro in my T61p and it still works flawlessly.....but i'd take an Intel equipped model instead if i could.

The T61 I passed on to my SO is Quadro graphics, and still kicking too.

That's a fair price. Always the chance that a seller on Craigslist will drop it another $20 to make a sale as well.

Well I think Lenovo stopped the repairs of Nvidia defects this past March so unless it is still within warranty, pass please!

Also the Quadro NVS110M was the reason why I sold my D620...too paranoid.

The D620 has a class-action settlement though. D630 as well. I'd still be willing to pick one of those up for that reason; you could likely get it serviced, even if it hasn't failed before.

Unfortunately, Lenovo didn't enter into that. Still, if it hasn't failed by now, I need to wonder what the likelihood is that it will down the road.

The official Nvidia settlement for claims is over. The thing is with the D620/D630 there are tons with the Intel GMA chip, so why roll the dice?

There are a couple of D630 that are still in Dell warranty but still, not worth it IMO. Lost productivity = no good for business.

I have two T61s with the NVS 140M and they're both still working fine despite my efforts to get them to die within warranty. I ran Furmark until peak temps were reached, turned the laptop off, let it cool, and started Furmark again. For days. No such luck. This was way back when the issue first came up, and it's been at least two years since then.

I think that ThinkPads tend to be less susceptible to this issue because the cooling system is better designed. The GPU temperature in these doesn't get anywhere near as high as it does in some other laptops I've seen while running Furmark.
