    Evening All,

I've found a second hand ThinkPad T61 and the seller is prepared to sell it to me for £90 (took a huge amount of haggling to get there) - the only fault is the battery is dead (have a spare, so it's not an issue IMHO) but my big concern is how reliable it will be, as it's coming with a nVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M graphics card.

The warranty for it has expired but I've figured out it's commissioning/activation date would have been January 2008 (based upon the results of the warranty lookup) - does that fall under the safe time period for the nVIDIA graphics card or could it be part of the faulty hardware batch?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated. :)

If I recall correctly and I may not, I think it's T61s with a manufacture date of 08/08 or later that are safer.

Cheers mate - I'll have a dig around here and on the IBM/Lenovo Forums before I make a decision to buy it. :)

IMO, at this point it doesnt really matter when it was manufactured, as if it were a problematic unit then chances are it should have been dead by now.
