i guess the main differences are the extra 1gb ram and windows vista ultimate. For an extra $250, is it worth it for 1gb extra ram and windows vista? i can't tell the difference otherwise between these two...i'm torn help!

I think for the 14" widescreens wxga+ is as high as it goes. They will come come out with SXGA+ for the 4:3 14" screens.

As for the pricing I don't have much to go by. Theses just came out yesterday and they seemed to have raised the prices a little bit even over the last 24 hours. However, the deals lenovo is offering seem to be real good right now, so it might not be a bad idea to jump on it.

Are you customizing these through the lenovo website or are they pre-configured machines?

If you're just doing basic browsing, movies, etc. I don't think you need the NVidia Quadro card.... you'd be more than fine with GMAX3100 graphics.

these are preconfigured systems already. in canada, you can't really customize much.

but yea, i'm still toughing it out and trying to decide which one to get! is ultimate and an extra gig worth $250? will there be WSXGA resolution on 14 inch widescreen in the NEAR future?

I'd definitely go for the $1500 one. $250 is easily enough to buy yourself the extra gig of RAM and if you REALLY want Ultimate, well you'll almost have enough money for that as well, with an extra copy of Vista Business.

By the way, may I ask how you're getting everything for $100 less than on the Lenovo Canada site?
