    Can people tell me what things i should do before fitting a new drive in addition to the stock 320GB and setting up RAID 0 in the ICH9M Intel utility?

    if RAID isn't enabled in the BIOS, that should be the only extra step you'll need to do outside of configuring the array in the controller BIOS.

    just be sure to keep backups and your battery installed and charged. ;)

    nope, it's dead-simple on a W700 since you can only make three choices: JBOD, RAID 0, or RAID 1.   no biggie.
