Thinking about getting a w520. Already have a gobi2000 wwan module from a T410. Will it work in the w520 / t420 new models? I think it's the same physical connection.

I had a mifi but it broke so I activated the gobi2000. It had come in another company laptop, it's been in quite a few actually.

Since the antenna wires are in the display, I would say the reception is way better than a USB stick and I have used it in some very low reception areas.

    Hi pshifrin,

Did you find out if this worked? I have the same query. My T510 is being replaced due to a fault and they're upgrading to W520 as T510 is obsolete. Unfortunately they're not adding a WWAN card, only WWAN upgrade-able. I have the Gobi 2000 (p/n: 78Y1399) from the T510i (which I purchased separately).

Do you, or does anyone else know if this will work in the W520?

    Many thanks.
