I'm having trouble as I can't get the ssd to boot after transferring the image. I'm using Acronis but I have Norton as well. Whayt Might I be doing wrong?

I've read that sometimes an image will be unbootable if the master boot record (MBR) is not copied in its entirety. Furthermore, ThinkPads have a larger-than-usual MBR. Some imaging applications require additional options to be set.

What ThinkPad are you using? How far to you get after booting?

No joy with this one. I was able to burn a set of restore discs and get XP tablet.

I tried twice once again with Acronis true image and once with Norton. I made sure to mark the partition as active and all of the relevant features on Norton. I've never been able to to ghost a Lenovo hard drive.

I've never had any trouble. You have to copy a disk image of the system you are copying into a partition large enough. If you are using Vista, use the "Backup and Restore".
