Hi there, do you I've been trying to find an online shop within europe that has the T440p and allows it to be customized (add more memory, change CPU, add SSD, etc.) just like lenovos's australian site allows, but the few shops I've found that have the T440p only have a pre-built model.

Does anyone know a way I can order a customized T440p within europe?

BTW the spec I'm looking for is the following:

    Intel® Core™ i7-4800MQ Processor (6M Cache, up to 3.70 GHz)
    Windows 8 64
    14.0 FHD IPS (1920 x 1080)
    NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 730M 1GB DDR3/GDDR5
    16GB DDR3 1600MHz (2 DIMM)
    Keyboard Backlit – (UK)
    5-button touchpad with FingerPrint Reader
    256GB SSD eDrive
    Smart Card Reader
    6 cell Li-ion Battery - 57+ (56 Wh)

well i know this doesn't answer your question, but you shouldn't buy an SSD or RAM direct, you should add it on yourself, will save you at least 50% on those items alone.

I think it's only a matter of time before Lenovo UK introduces a customisable option for the T440p. Given that their page hasn’t updated to the latest models yet I say give it a few more weeks before a configurable option is available to purchase.

    1) Don't buy the memory or the SSD from Lenovo. Get the min spec on these and buy the extras on Amazon.com. It is waay cheaper, and even if you have no use for the HDD, you can keep it as a "recovery image" then you can wipe the recovery partition that will be cloned to your SSD and thus have the full capacity at your disposal.
    2) To get a customised Lenovo in Europe, order it from the US and buy a cheap return flight to Philadelphia! Then have the laptop delivered to the UPS depot in Newark Delaware, which has zero sales tax. Even after the flight and hotel and rental car you will still have saved money :)
    3) Unless you value your time, that is... but hey...

Thanks for the advice, so no SSD and only 1 stick of 8Gb and buy an off-the-shelf SSD and 8Gb stick. Gotcha!

Yeah, I've been checking out the UK page but they still don't have the T440p listed, I guess I'll wait a few more days/weeks then.

Has anyone heard when it will be possible to customise a T440p in the UK yet? The Lenovo site shows the machine now but only with the i5 processor.

The T440p is fully configurable on the Lenovo UK site now, just click the "Select" button on the base model and you should see a whole list of options including Core i7 Quad Core processors.
