    I do not know if this was discus in random post. However getting ride of the antivirus McAfee and installing a free one, like AVG will help your laptop with some problems.

    1) It helps the stutter sound problem that been occurring in some laptop y580, mine too.

    2) It solve the problem of having to wait 1min before the wireless internet connect on the computer.

    Once again, please delete this forum if I had disobey any of the forum rules by re-post of a sort.

    This will probably get moved or black holed, but removing McAffee is a no brainer.

    MSE is all you need.

    Yes this has been mentioned in the Y580 Owners Thread before. But anyway... I decided to go with Avast (I've used AVG before as well). Based on cnet.com, avast has a faster boot time than AVG.
