On friday I placed an order for an X60S.
BT, FingerPreader, 1.5 gigs ram, 100gig harddrive, verizon card builtin, extended batt, X6 ultrabase with dvd recorder, wireless card, 3 year warranty.

It was a crazy deal with my emplyee discount and student discount.

Now I hear that the merom is coming out soon. I know I shouldnt chase technology because there is always someting newer but I cant help it.
I also know that I wont need the extra processing power of the core2duo for what I need the machine for, internet and notes. I also know that if I want a merom machine with the same options im going to pay out the ass for it.

So really the 64bit with the extra 20% of processing power when compared with extra money spent isnt really worth it.

But you know I still have that little devil telling me you want the newer one.

What would you guys do? should I keep my order or get the Duo 2?

How did you combine the EPP and the student discount? I have access to EPP now, but I don't see how you'd access the education pages?

I can get the student discount because I went through my deutsche bank perks system.

with what you need the laptop for, you wont see much of a difference in processor performance. nothing related to word processing or surfing will reap the benefits of 64bit programs

keep the latop and enjoy it =]
