I left my power adapter and cable back in Chicago, I'm in Germany now. Can I just get a x240 compatible power adapter locally for my US bought x240 or do I need to worry about voltage/compatibility?

In the past I've used the original adapter with a plug convert w/o problems, and while I suspect it will be ok to get a local adapter here, I just want to make sure.

    Thanks!

No, because the adapter takes voltage from 100 - 240 and coinverts it to 19v. You can buy an adapter without any worries.

Check the AC voltage rating on the label on the bottom. It probably says something like "AC 100-250V, 50/60Hz". The joy of the switched mode PSU technology is that it can handle a very wide range of input power (more than stated on the label) and turn it into something usable.

Great, thanks for the additional information - this makes me feel better about borrowing an adapter locally.
