I just received my x220 today, however I found there are gaps between the frame and the lcd.
    1mm for the left side
    2mm for the right side
    Is it normal?

    right

    excellent built quality!

I am going to ask for an exchange tmr, it is unacceptable

Don't bother asking for an exchange on such a trivial matter since it won't fix anything.

It's normal. I don't know why they left an intentional gap like that. It's a little annoying in the beginning, but you don't notice it very quickly.

the left side is okay, since it's just 1mm, but the right side is really unacceptable (2mm), it is very annoying

Things only bother you if you let them. Honestly, I can't really see much in the pictures.

@Airbus: What would you expect Lenovo forum members to say? Three possibilities: (1) Ignorance is bliss; (2) Ignoring is bliss; (3) Not using an X220, just adding general life-is-good comments.

It's your money. If the gaps do bother you (and don't expect anyone else to agree/sympathize with you because it's your own eyes that look at the very gaps), return the laptop or have it replaced.

Really? I have often thought that the Lenovo forum members were WAY to critical. All the time ing and moaning about how Lenovo is not IBM.

Dunno if you added them later, but I just saw the last couple pics which show a gap in the bezel from the side. That's not normal. If you're not able to snap it back in place, have the bezel replaced, it's a really simple replacement.

That was my thought too when I saw the added pics, that it's not snapped in correctly.

Yeah, there's some old women here, no question on that one. :D

you can probably send it in for repair, they will take the screen bezel off, and refit a double sided sticky tape to hold down the bezel onto the screen.
