New to the forum AND new to (usable) PCs as I used to be a console lover.

About 3 months ago I got a Y410P with an I7 2.4, 8GB RAM, and a GT755M. I love it so far and when it comes to games it puts my Xbox 360 S to shame. Only problem is vsync stutter. When ever I enable vsynv on any game (Skyrim, Battlefield BC2, Metro 2033, Bioshock Infinite, Just Cause 2, etc) there is god awful and completely unplayable stuttering anytime the FPS tries to go above 60. For the most part I just turn vsynv off which sucks because A) some games (Skyrim) won't let you so it has to be forced off with nvidiaInspector and B) without vsynv there is some pretty gruesome tearing (which I can live with since xbox did it too to an extent). Oddly games like Payday2, Mighty Quest for Epic Loot, and League of Legends are immune since they have their own built in frame rate limiter to prevent the FPS from exceeding 60 causing vsync to cap the frame rate.

Is this a common problem with our GT755Ms? Is there a known fix? Is there or will there be adaptive vsync for the GT755m? If I export to a higher refresh rate monitor like a 120herts will vsync adjust to 120 FPS? Is this a hardware problem I need to submit a warranty claim for?

My drivers are up to date (335.23) and if other hardware/software information is needed I can provide it. Any help is appreciated.

I have the same problem, and it's pretty annoying, though I don't really play anything except league of legends right now. :p

If I remember correctly, you'll have to cap the frame rate to 60 for the game with the stutter with some fps capper application. Turning on triple buffering might also help. Adaptive v-sync isn't available on optimus enabled notebooks.

Limiting the frame rate to 58 using nvidiaInspector worked. However the 335.23 Geforce drivers were having issues and causing the game to hang for 3-4 sec anytime the GPU started to work hard (high and ultra game settings) which might have been TDR issues. I updated to the 337.50 Beta drivers and now it works seamlessly. I tried triple buffering and it didn't seem to make a difference although I only tested it in Skyrim. So glad to have this fixed it makes gaming on my Laptop 10x better.
