Ok, I'm trying to figure out if I have a Samsung or an LG display, but I'm confused.

. . . where do I find the number that I put in the 'type' box? I clicked on that link that supposedly tells me how to find it, but it's not very clear to me. (I am severely lacking sleep though, so maybe it's obvious?) -

I don't think that's right. I'd already tried that number (because it was the example off to the side) and the part number that comes up next to display isn't any of the ones that have been listed.
I'm frustrated! -

That is the same thing that mine says. Like I said, I don't think that number that you posted is the correct 'type' number.
I found somewhere that said it's the number that comes before "CTO" on your email reciept, so I tried that, and it doesn't work for me. I can't find any other information. -

I've found a few that work with my serial number. I think the number we are looking for is specific to our machines.

Perhaps I should just give up! I've searched the forum and I can't find an answer! -
GR, well, i guess we'll figure it out when we receive our thinkpads.. it's not like we can call the UPS man and tell him to take it back.

It is the CTO number, but it takes a couple days for it to work on their site. I was curious too while waiting for my T400 to arrive. On the second day after it shipped the parts lookup finally worked with my serial number and CTO number.

I ordered mine and two weeks later I'm booting it up. The ship date was initially the 20th of Oct, but it was actually sent out on the 10th.
BTW, refresh the order status page as much as possible! -

Ordered Monday just before midnight, to take last minute advantage of the sale, and it was shipped today, Friday. Only 3 business days from my order date. Paid for upgrade in shipping, will receive Monday. So will be 7 days turn around time from order to delivery.

And as of this morning, my delivery date has been pushed back another day. I now have to wait until Friday.

This is not really a GOOD shipping story, but not bad either, ordered 9/29, my original est was 10/13, got pushed back to 10/27, and order shipped on 10/21.
so 3 weeks, and they were saying that it was because I ordered the lenovo messenger bag...

Mine doesn't even SAY a delivery date now, but it is in Anchorage, Alaska (where it has a nice view of Russia!).
It got missorted at the hub, and redirected to the proper destination, so perhaps that's why it isn't even giving me a delivery date now.
I'm not complaining too much, though, as my original estimated SHIP date was yesterday, and it shipped on the 15th. -
Ordered on Oct 14th though my school discount with DOS OS. Est Oct 28th, Still 'In process'. Will a cancellation speed it up?

Yep, someone else said somewhere that they think everyone is getting the LG now . . . I think they might be right.
Oh, btw . . . the delivery date wsa missing from my tracking for a few days . . . as of a little bit ago, it's back. I AM getting mine tomorrow, according to the tracking. -

I don't like it. I LOVE IT!!!!
I was worried about the weight, since I ordered the 9-cell, as I'd heard others talk about how heavy it was . . .
. . . well, the only laptops I've had have been 2nd or 3rd hand OLD laptops, so I'm used to heavy. This thing, with the 9-cell, is an ultra portable to me. And it's SO QUIET!!!
I don't notice the keyboard flex AT ALL when I'm typing, but I can see it on the left side if I push down a single key, purposely looking for the flex.
I just . . . love it. did I mention that?

I've heard so many bad things about Lenovo shipping that I was expecting the worst. So far for me, however, things are going just great. I opted for the (free) standard UPS shipping option on my configured T400. I bought the system on 11/06. It reported being shipped on 11/12. And according to the shipment tracking page on UPS:

Nevermind. Things aren't looking so good. This morning when I checked the shipping status, it had changed to "Exception" and basically told me something "unexpected" happened and that it might (will) take longer now. I guess I won't be getting it tomorrow then. This sucks. My old laptop is KIA so I've been having to basically live at the library, just so I can use the laptops they lend out. And I absolutely need some kind of computer to do my homework. -
My T400 was scheduled to ship on the 12th, but it actually arrived on the 11th. Well, the brown van arrived, I couldn't be here to sign for it, but I got it yesterday. The accessories had already arrived even though they also were sheduled to ship on the 12th. Yipee!
I had a bit of trouble ordering the laptop because Lenovo canceled my order with out first notifying me due to an address problem I had thought I had resolved with the credit card company. I called Lenovo, and they were very nice in helping me with a new order of the same configuration, expediting it a little, and making sure it did not cost more. Unfortunately I could not reinstate the old order I forget the original order's ship date, but it was considerably earlier than the 12th. -
Seems my story has a happy ending. I'm still in class, but I'm pretty sure my laptop is back at my residence hall's service center, waiting for me. According to the UPS tracking info, the unit has been delivered and signed for. This is really good new. I didn't want to have to walk to the library to get some studying in the weekend. I honestly think that my experience with Lenovo's shipping was better than my experience with that of HP (my only other laptop has been an HP).
