GOOD T400 shipping stories

Ok guys and gals . . . I ordered my T400 yesterday, and I'm anxious. I'm also making the mistake of reading the 'when is your laptop shipping' threads here and on the lenovo forum.

Give me some GOOD news. How many of you have had good experiences with Lenovo's shipping?

Have any of you had good experiences even though you ordered a 9-cell?

 

The best advice I can give you is to look as little as possible between now and your ship date. I know it's difficult, but otherwise your just causing yourself grief.

 

be patient. ^____^ I don't know how they ship T400.
but last year most T61 were shipped 3-5 days straight from hong kong/china.

 

I ordered mine on 3/10, shipped on 5/10, delivered to San Francisco on 7/10. Now I just need to have it forwarded to Europe, so for me it's only half the way. My configuration doesn't include 9-cell battery though.

 

My T400 arrived at my house on the estimated shipping date. I was shipping with a 6 cell though so can't speak to 9 cell availability. I second Zaz's advice though. From past orders with Lenovo, the shipping date is no more than a very rough estimate and has been known to move, especially later

 

Ordered mine 9/24, shipped 9/26, arrived 10/2.

 

Ordered 9/12, shipped 9/16 and arrived on 9/23. Not as fast as some, but I'm not complaining. Specs in signature.

 

Took me 13 days, from order to arrival. I'm in Toronto btw and ordered a 9-cell.

 

Ordered 9/18, shipped 9/22, arrived 9/24 in US.

 

I ordered originally on 9-12 and it was scheduled to ship on 9-26. Changed order on 9-13(upgraded display and wi-fi) and shipment date changed to 9-29. Laptop actually shipped on 9-26 and I received on 9-29. Very happy. Best laptop, I have ever had. Will see how it holds up.

 

Mine shipped about a week before the estimated ship date and traveled all the way from China to the East Coast in 2 days, with ground shipping.

 

With all these dates posters have displayed, did the order ship date change online or staus change? Or does it not change until the order actually ships?

 

Well, there was an issue with my card (daily cap), so most likely my ship date will be pushed back.

There seems to be *some* good stories here!

I went into this knowing I might have to wait a while . . . but it doesn't make me any less impatient.

 

Ordered: September 21; Shipped: September 23 (however, UPS website reported 'Airline off-loaded packages' for two consecutive days before it ever left Guangzhou, China on September 25; Received: September 30.

 

I am sort of wondering if perhaps I should have settled for the 6 Cell . . .

. . . is the 9-cell definitely worth it?

 

I have a 4-cell on my T400 (I love the traditional ThinkPad 'square-box' form), and I have a T61 that has a 9-cell -- it is much more bulky and heavy. I can go ~2.5 hours on the T400 and a whopping ~7.5 hours on the T61 with a fully charged battery. I would assume the 6-cell would be somewhere in between. So, the answer to your question depends on how (and where) you plan to use your machine.

 

I knew it was bulkier . . . I haven't seen them in person, so I don't know by how much exactly.

The reason I chose the 9-cell is because between 18 credit hours at school, and two jobs, I'm away from home from 8am til 9pm almost everynight, and some nights are later.

I think I just need to sit back and be less anxious.

 

i received my T400 about two weeks after ordering it. i'm very happy with it. i have the 9 cell battery. i never worry about running out of power. it rocks.

 

I cancelled my U330 on 9/30 and ordered a T400 on the same day. Initial ship date was 10/14, after talking to customer service to confirm said date I was told that it was pushed back to 10/20. I ended up being in contact with a couple of different reps who gave me varying answers as to what was the reason. Some said it was likely a warehouse back up due to Golden Week and others said there was an issue transmitting my order to the warehouse. Either way I did some polite complaining and managed to get my order expedited and got the shipping notification yesterday. Needless to say I'm pretty psyched. For people that ordered before me and still haven't had their order shipped I would be make sure to bring that point up in any discussions with customer service. They should really be moving you're order to the front of the line if that's the case and at the least they should offer some kind of rebate/discount or free 2 day shipping...

 

Ordered 9/12 arrived 1/10

 

Ordered 9/24, received 10/08. Came with LG screen, no dead pixels, been fantastic so far. I also chose the 6 cell, since that's all I ever used on my old T41p.

 

Ordered 10/3, shipped today (10/10)

t400 with 6 cell.

Can't wait to get my laptop!

 

Ordered 8/5 came to San Joe on 8/31. Shipped to me here in Toronto on 9/8. My date kept getting delayed and it was fustrating

 

ordred mine on 28Sep...Lenovo rep said it is scheduled to ship the week of 20Oct08...Not too bad I suppose...but we'll see if it actually ships

 

Ordered on Sept 15th, shipped on Sept 17th Received on Sept 18th

yes $20 for express shipping, I am extremely happy it shipped fast.

 

I order 9/11, shipped 9/15, arrive 9/17.

I though 5 business day/7 calendars days was pretty darn quick.

 

Do they build/ship on weekends?

 

yes one of my T400s was shipped on Saturday

 

I had some payment issues, but those are worked out now. I'm worried it will push my date back (hasn't yet) . . . I'm anxious! The good stories in here are making me hopeful, though!

 

Ordered 28Sep....shipped today!!! Now...which website tells me which LED screen I got?

 

I ordered yesterday (11 October) and it will ship on 10 November. Though that's probably because I selected the Intel 5350 wireless chipset.

 

Am I too obsessed waiting for my T400.

Right now I am tracking realtime status of the UPS Flight before it lands in Anchorage

 

That is totally something I would do!

When I called Saturday morning, they said they'd update my shipping date on Tuesday . . . I'm scared!

 

I tracked the flight from South Korea to Anchorage and then there were two flights from Anchorage to Louisville KY. flightstats.com allows you see the actual location of the plane, speed, etc. kind of cool. Anyway, it shipped from China on the 12th and is due at my door today.

 

Ordered P8600, 3GB, 80GB, 14.1 LED, intel 5300, BT. 2 day shipping Etc on October 9, and i got an email confirmation of it being shipped just an hour ago.. so i should get it by Thursday or Friday !!! i think 8 days is DARN good

 

I just called, and they said it was due to ship out 'the week of the 16th of October (which is weird since the 16th is a Thursday . . . THIS thursday . . . as in two days from now!) Generally when they say 'the week of . . ' it's the first day of that week, right? Oh well.

So, my date was moved UP from the 20th!!!!

 

My original "estimated" ship date was the 15th. I ordered mine on the 1st (not knowing at the time it was a Chinese Holiday). Anyway, after I found out about the holiday and wasn't sure about my order, I called last Monday. They said, my order was "hanged" but was being escalated. I almost cancelled my order when they said the new ship date was the week of the 20th. I believe the orders are catching up and mine is out on the UPS truck for delivery today .

How do I determine if they chose to build mine with an LG screen or not?

Go to this LINK and enter your model no. and serial number. You get serial number once your notebook is shipped. It may take 3 days for it to be in online database in above link.
If your TFT model no. says 42T0497 its LG
