I noticed there is no pre-configured option for Gobo 4000 on a T530. It looks like the T430s and X230 are the only machines that have it. Do you think I can order it Mobile Broadband Ready and then purchase the card separately and install it myself? Or is there something that makes it non-compatibile with the T530?

Did you ever find out the answer to your question? I am wondering the same thing. Googling for an answer brought up your thread. Any info would be appreciated.

Not really, but I would guess that it wouldn't be. Lenovo has to whitelist cards in the bios, and unless they are officially certified then it won't be whitelisted. I've read about the same problem with the Gobi 4000 in the X tablets. This practice goes back a long way even with wifi cards in older Thinkpads. I'm hoping at some point it's supported via a bios update though.
