    Hello,
any news on any new T series that coming out in few month? such as Quad Core or higher FSB 1066 or 1333Ghz ?

I have T42P and i'm thinking to upgrade to T61P but don't want to spend another $3K like i spent almost 3 years ago for this T42P now and few months later there is something better coming :)

because i can live for few months with my T42P

    what do you think?

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I would have to say I'd buy now given the next generation processors will be an evolutionary jump not a revolutionary jump like the Dual cores were to the single core Pentium M's. That being said if you can leave with what you got -- waiting is a virtue; just one I wasn't ever good at... ;-)

If I hear it right, Penryn is coming out soon. That means quad-core? If there is a little bit of news showing this will come out in a couple of months, I would definitely wait.

Quad core, and at a hefty premium. Tomorrow Nov 12. is the debut of the desktop versions...I'd be hard pressed to wait for a quad core -- the pricing will be up there.

The thing is, there is very little software at this point that takes advantage of quad core.

Yes, the general rule of thumb is to wait as long as you can, but buy when you need the notebook or IT gadget. As mentioned IT development is so rapid that you could basically wait forever for the next new technology.

I've said it before, and I will say it again "Patience is a virtue, and one I have never been good at..."

Get what you need when you need it rather then waiting for the next best thing.

Agreed. Take your annual salary and divide by 10. Use this amount to purchase a new laptop every year.

Yeah if I took 10 percent of my salary I'd be in big trouble with my wife...I've purchased too many this year as it is...

The p series isn't nearly as expensive as it used to be. You could get a deal nowadays on a T61p for like 1,200 during a sale with coupon code.
