    Hello, folks!

Its been a while, havent frequented this forum after getting busy with my ThinkPads :D!

My R400 recently developed this odd screen issue, heres how it all started...

I was cleaning my laptops exterior with wet wipes and gave ribbon cable some rubbing as well, it was covered in dust so I thought to wipe it off!

After that this is what I get on the screen, all the time, usually artifacts cover much wider space and make text garbled and unreadable:

    ScreenArtifacts.jpg

Only way to get rid of it is keep screen static and ctlr+a and then click in blank place to remove selection and then everythings back to normal, that is until I move the screen at least one pixel up/down/left or right!
It is becoming more frequent and frequent and gets into way of normal computer use!

Artifacting does not appear with watching movies, as in, the movie itself is not static image obviously, but it doesnt appear during movie playback, only if I move media players window is when artifacts appear.

I tried to remove/reinstall integrated graphics drivers on my R400, it doesnt seem to help this screen issue. There is only integrated graphics card.

So, have I damaged LCD ribbon cable and should replace it or perhaps first try to re-seat it?

I'd try re-seating the cable first, then swapping it if the former approach doesn't help. They're inexpensive enough nowadays.

With that being said, I don't think that I've ever seen a LCD cable cause the type of image distortion that you're dealing with.

    Good luck.
